The Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Company's responded to a reported Structure Fire @ 452 Colonel Ledyard Highway at 1347 hours. Upon arrival by members found a light smoke condition in the structure. Firefighters found that the dishwasher unit had an active fire in the control panel and was contained by firefighters using a handline. Power was shut off at the breaker to minimize any injuries to firefighters. Ledyard Ambulance stood by for rehab purposes and the incident is under investigation by the Ledyard Fire Marshal's Office. No injuries were reported and units returned about an hour later.
