The town of Ledyard employees 5 Career Firefighters to supplement our week day response to emergencies. The Career staff handle all emergencies that come in Monday through Friday, 7am-4pm. They also assist with Fire Safety/Public Education in the schools.
There are 2 Firefighters assigned to the Ledyard Fire Station and 3 assigned to the Gales Ferry Station.
The Career firefighters assist in other activities in town as well, including handing out toys collected during the Santa Run's each year, along with the distribution of the holiday food baskets.
